How should I clean my Hydra Grease-Eater Dosing Unit?
The pump is designed to be easy to clean. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals or abrasives. Simply wipe the unit over with a clean disposable cloth and fresh water.

Is the Hydra Grease-Eater fluid safe for my kitchen?
Yes. Hydra Grease-Eater contains a blend of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria which have been specially selected to break down the organic material that is found in commercial kitchen waste. Armed with a powerful battery of grease-degrading enzymes, they are all classified by the Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) as category 1, i.e. they are of extremely low or no hazard.

Are there any special storage or handling requirements for the fluid?
Hydra Grease-Eater Liquid is a perfectly safe class 1 fluid, and there are no special handling requirements. It should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Does it have a shelf life?
The fluid's shelf life is a minimum of 18 months, as long as it is stored as above.

At what temperature should the Hydra Grease-Eater Liquid be stored?
Hydra Grease-Eater fluid should ideally be kept at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C.  The microbial make up of the fluid will survive temperatures up to 50°C, but anything above 35°C can compromise the effective performance of the product.

How long does the battery last?
The battery should last around 18 months. The low battery warning light will begin to flash around 1 month before completely running out. It only flashes during daylight hours when someone is around to see it, in order to preserve power.

Where can I install the Hydra Grease-Eater System in my kitchen?
Because the system is battery powered, and does not require water or a mains electrical connection, it can be sited almost anywhere in the kitchen.

Can I use Hydra Grease-Eater instead of a grease trap?
Hydra Grease-Eater can be used either as a standalone grease management system, or in conjunction with a grease trap. Always check with your local authority before installation. Where Hydra Grease-Eater is used to dose into a grease trap, the trap will require emptying far less often.

Can I change the fluid delivery settings on my Hydra Grease-Eater Dosing System?
Yes. Refer to the installation sheet in the Dosing System section of this web site. However, changing the dosing level will affect how often refill fluid will need to be ordered.

2. HYDRA SEPTO BOOST
Is Hydra Septo Boost safe for pipes?
Yes, because it is an all natural and biologically-engineered product, it does not contain the harsh chemicals that can hurt your pipes. It is completely safe to use.

Will Hydra Septo Boost damage my fixtures?
No, it is non-abrasive and can be used in your cleaning process and is non-abrasive.

Does Hydra Septo Boost remove foods as well as grease?
Yes, works at a greater pace with proteins such as found in meats and poultry.

Will Hydra Septo Boost dissolve hair in stopped or slow-moving drains?
It does not dissolve hair but does dissolve the grease and oils that cause the hair to clump and eventually clog your drains.

Can I use Hydra Septo Boost in my R.V. or Caravan holding tank?
Yes, in fact instead of killing the bacteria as with most R.V. products, Hydra Septo Boost adds to the bacteria which create digestion and makes it easier to dispose. It doesn’t upset the eco-system of the treatment plant and the lemon smell provides a pleasant, natural scent.

Can Hydra Septo Boost be used around our refuse area on scum and odour?
Absolutely! It is all natural and completely safe to use and the lemon scent will help remove the unpleasant odours associated with refuse.

Will Hydra Septo Boost help or hurt septic tanks?
Hydra Septo Boost not only helps septic tanks digest but with regular use will prolong pumping by up to 10 years. And, it is environmentally safe to use.

What is the shelf life of Hydra Septro Boost
It remains dormant until mixed with water and should be used within two years for best results.

Can Hydra Septo Boost be used in portable toilets?
Not only can it be used but should be used instead of formaldehyde based products which are designed to kill bacteria and thus damage the natural digestive process at treatment plants. Hydra Septo Boost is environmentally friendly bacteria cultures and not only safe to use it enhances productivity when disposed at the local treatment plant.

What is a septic tank?
A septic tank is a natural environment where the waste generated by a family is stored and gradually broken down into small compounds prior to being released into the soakaways.

How does this work?
Every septic tank must have a bacterial activity to operate properly. The bacteria present in the septic tank gradually transform the waste into harmless biodegradable paste composed of water and carbon monoxide, that will gradually disappear in the soakaways.

If that is the case, why do I need to use your products?
Modern day living generates far more waste than in previous generations and as a result, household septic tanks are barely big enough to cope with the waste. This is compounded by the vast array of products such as washing machines and dishwasher powder, detergent, bleach, shampoos and conditioner. Add a large quantity of hot water and you have unconsciously created a lethal cocktail made of chemical and non-degradable waste. Once this cocktail is in your drains septic tanks and fat traps, the bacterial life will disappear or will not be sufficient to deal with the level of waste arriving in the tank, non-degradable waste will build-up and solidify, creating blockages, whilst organic waste will build up and rot, generating gases and foul odours. Expensive pump out and pluming work will not resolve the situation, for as long as the bacterial activity in your system is insufficient or inexistent the problems will keep recurring.

Why does the product need to be used constantly?
Our product range is biodegradable that is to say; it will decompose naturally, without creating any waste, unlike synthetic chemical base alternatives. Regular quantity of the product needs to travel through the system to enable optimum performance at all time.

How much of your product do I need to use each year?
The average family of three produces about seven cubic meters of sewage in about three weeks. The average quantity of product required is 12 sachets per year. Product consumption varies depending on the septic tank size in relation to the number of people using it.

Do I need to store this product in a special place or can it be kept with my other detergents?
Hydra Septo Boost is stable and does not contain any synthetic chemicals. It can be stored with all your other household cleaning product, temperature range 15 to 45° C, avoid very high and very low temperature. We strongly advise that if you are using detergents not to dispose of them in any pipes or drains leading to your septic tank and fat trap.

My system is working well do I need to do anything?
Our answer is, keep using your system in the way you are. Your system is obviously large enough to deal with level of waste you are producing. You are evidently not using too much detergents and hot water. Check your system regularly to avoid any potential problem. Should any problem develop apply our product immediately to restore the natural balance in your system.
